ARHS Class of 2021 Programs
For students that have been accepted to the Class of 2022, Riordan offers “The Crusader Experience,” a week-long camp for students to create new friendships with their Crusader brothers and prepare for high school life. Students will be placed in one of three groups. Each group will have an hour session each day on conditioning and weight training, public speaking and presentation skills, and seminars each day on various topics including leadership, organization, note taking and test preparation, etiquette, and other themes. Students will be provided lunch each day.
The second half of each day (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm) is dedicated to introducing the group to the unique aspects of the Crusader Culture that they will experience as students of Riordan High School. This will encompass an introduction to Riordan history, an overview of the Characteristics of Marianist Education, and experience Community Service and Social Justice through hands-on learning. The afternoons will include learning how to be effective role models in society, developing personal leadership while working together at service locations, and discovering fulfilling value in being selfless by seeing others’ needs to be greater than their own. Service completed will count towards the Riordan Graduation requirement and be accompanied by upper division Crusader Mentors.
